Shiites shoot deputy commissioner of police to death, three other officers in critical conditionOn monday 22nd of July, members of Islamic Movement of Nigeria clashed with officers of the Nigerian police. The clash resulted from the refusal of the government to release their leader El-zakzaky who has been in detention since 2015.
The clash between the police and the members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria took place around the axis of Federal Ministry of Foreign affairs in Abuja. It was earlier reported that the members of the IMN belonging to the shiite sect had plans to burn down the ministry.
No fewer than three persons have been confirmed dead and several others injured. Another source disclosed that DCP Umar was killed by the protesters while trying to prevent the hostile actions of the protesters towards destroying government properties around the federal secretariat and the three arms zone.
